Town and City Place Shapers Celebrates Bangor Day in Parliament
MPW Making Places Work joined Bangor’s local MP in Parliament celebrating the city’s 1,500th anniversary.
On Thursday 11 September, MPW Founder Medi Parry-Williams, joined by company director Dr Sara Parry, proudly supported Bangor Aberconwy MP Claire Hughes as she hosted Bangor Day in Parliament.
The event brought together ministers, policymakers, and community representatives to celebrate Bangor’s unique heritage and bright future. The MPW team highlighted their ongoing commitment to the regeneration of Bangor High Street, following a year-long collaboration with Bangor City Council to deliver a marketing and PR strategy that both honours the city’s remarkable history and looks confidently to its future.
As part of their visit, the team also enjoyed a guided tour of Parliament, gaining valuable insight into the processes that shape national policy.
The Westminster celebrations coincided with attendance at “Glastonbury for business” — Ideas Fest in Tring, Hertfordshire. A two-day gathering of leaders, entrepreneurs, and change makers. The festival featured inspirational talks from key figures including Simon Squibb, Yo! Sushi founder Simon Woodroffe, Davina Taylor, Ruby Wax, and many more, each sharing transformative insights on growth, innovation, and scaling positive impact.
Reflecting on the busy few days, MPW Founder, Medi Parry-Williams, said: “It has been such an inspiring and celebratory experience – from marking Bangor’s 1,500-year history in Parliament to hearing first-hand from global changemakers at Ideas Fest.
These opportunities have helped us build valuable connections, strengthen our community, and continue striving to make a positive difference for Bangor and beyond.”
Together, these events mark another step in MPW’s mission to champion places, people, and ideas that create meaningful and lasting impact.
